Who qualifies for the £350 OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant in 2026?

Since April 2022 the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant only applies to people living in flats and to renters in any property type (including landlords installing for tenants). Homeowners with their own freehold house and off-street parking no longer qualify.

How is the OZEV grant paid?

You never see the cash. An OZEV-approved installer applies the £350 directly to your installation quote before you pay, so the discount comes off the total invoice.

Do I need to already own an EV to claim the grant?

Accepted Answer

You need to either own, lease, or have a confirmed on-order EV or PHEV from the government's eligible-vehicle list. A signed order with a VIN or delivery date is enough.

Do I need off-street parking?

Accepted Answer

Yes - the charger must be installed at a property with dedicated off-street parking. Public on-street installations are funded by a separate local authority scheme, not the OZEV home grant.
